.NET Compact Framework V/S .NET Framework

We used to confront with above two terms in programming. And both seems same to us but compact gives means somewhat small in size. And yes that is the difference between two.

.NET Compact Framework

The .NET Compact Framework is a subset of the full framework used for creating applications that run on  portable devices like PDA’s and SmartPhones.  It implements approximately 30 percent of the full .NET Framework class library and also contains features and classes specific to mobile and embedded development. It allow access to features of device. Applications and components can interact on the device and over the Internet.

.NET Framework

The .NET Framework is used to develop normal Window or Web applications. It includes all classes and features along with class libraries.
